When the Washington Wizards locked guard John Wall and forward Otto Porter into long-term extensions this summer, to go along with the one signed by Bradley Beal last summer, they envisioned, a trio of Wizards growing together into a powerhouse.

D.C. didn’t need long to see the fruits of that investment.

BB, Otto and J-Wall combined for 79 of Washington’s 115 points on Friday night as the Wizards picked up their second win of the season in as many games, topping the Detroit Pistons 115-111. For the second straight game, Brad totaled 25 points, and this time Wall added 26 while Porter led the way with a game-high 28.

The combination helped the Wiz hold off a game Pistons squad that had all five of their starters finish in double figures. Detroit came out strong and led by as much as 12 in the second quarter, but Washington made the deficit manageable by halftime and dominated most of the second half, though a late Pistons rally made it interesting right down to the final minute of play.

“They brought the fight to us in the first half and in the second half we brought the fight to them. That’s what it was, back and forth. It came down to the wire,” Brad said. “It was a great game, definitely a fun game in a great environment. But we have to come out better. They hit us in the mouth first and we didn’t respond too well [in the first half] but the second half was definitely different.”
