The Washington Wizards extended their winning streak to five games on Monday night after defeating the Indiana Pacers in a game the Wizards controlled from the jump. Indiana didn’t back down, but Washington left Bankers Life Fieldhouse with a solid 111-102 victory.

Bradley Beal and his teammates led a balanced attack offensively as they have been doing throughout this winning streak. Everybody was contributing as eight Wizards eclipsed the double-digit mark in scoring against the Pacers.

Brad led the way for the Wizards with 21 points. Otto Porter Jr., Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris all had solid nights from the starting lineup and the bench provided valuable minutes, combining for 50 points on the night.

The Wizards struggled as a team from behind the three-point line, but they topped the Pacers in assists, free throw percentage and points in the paint to compensate.

Over their last five games, the Wizards are averaging over 32 assists per game, which has propelled them to their longest winning streak of the season.

Beal started fast offensively in this one, being his typical aggressive self in his role with John Wall out. The Panda scored 10 of his 21 in the first quarter, including a crafty drive to the basket to slide around Myles Turner.

BB stayed hot in the second quarter to propel his team to a 58-49 halftime lead and the Wizards would hold a comfortable lead for the rest of the night that grew as large as 17.

The win moves the Wizards into a tie with the Cleveland Cavaliers for third place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 31-22 as their three-game road trip draws to a close on Tuesday.

The Wizards head to Philadelphia tonight for a nationally televised matchup against Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and the 76ers. The game will air on TNT and tip-off is slated for 8pm ET.
