With the NBA postseason now less than a month away, Bradley Beal has found his role in Phoenix and that could mean big things for the Suns this spring.

Brad continued his hot month of March on Sunday with 28 points on a scintillating 11-of-15 from the field, but it wasn’t enough as the Suns fell 140-129 to the Bucks in Milwaukee.

The 28-point effort marked Brad’s sixth game scoring 20 or more points in nine March contests. Additionally, Sunday marked the third straight game that No. 3 dished out seven assists and the sixth straight game that he shot 50 percent or better from the field.

For the month of March at large he is averaging 20.9 points per game, 5.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from deep.

The hot stretch has coincided with Brad —after discussions with teammates and coaches about the team’s needs — taking on a more ball-dominant role in the Phoenix offense, acting as a facilitator in addition to a scorer.

“I’ve embraced the role a lot more,” BB said last week. “I still am in attack mode. I still have the mindset of a scorer and still have that ability. But I also understand that I have to generate shots for us and generate quality looks…I’m a rhythm guy, too, so I understand that everybody loves to be involved, everybody needs to have some touches…you want to reward guys for working hard.”

Brad’s up-tick in production isn’t a short term trend. He’s averaging 21.3 points per game since the beginning of February while shooting 53.4 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from three.

With the loss to Milwaukee, the Suns now sit tied with the Dallas Mavericks for the seventh best record in the West, just a half game out of the final guaranteed playoff spot. Phoenix returns to action on Wednesday, March 20th when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Footprint Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.
